Sheridan Couple Involved in Fatal Crash Near Casper

The Wyoming Highway Patrol has released information regarding a fatal crash that occurred Sunday on Interstate 25 near Casper.

At 5:07 pm, Highway Patrol Troopers were dispatched to the scene of a one-vehicle rollover at milepost 184.5. According to the Patrol, a 2005 Subaru Forester was traveling northbound on Interstate 25 when a deer ran out in front of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old John Gallatin of Sheridan, swerved to avoid the deer, sending the vehicle into the borrow pit where it overturned several times. Gallatin was partially ejected during the rollover and died from his injuries at the scene.

The passenger, 33-year-old Amanda Gallatin of Sheridan, was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper with what is being reported as serious injuries. The Highway Patrol has confirmed that neither occupant were not properly wearing their seatbelts.
