We begin our year in review for Sheridan County with a look back at a few of the top stories for January through March. The City of Sheridan received some good news from the state to start the year, as the SLIB Board approved a $1 million grant to extend sewer infrastructure to the Sheridan Commercial Park. The Sheridan Housing Action Committee announced that after five years of service to the community, they'd be shutting their doors. Board President Bill Rapp said it was simply due to a lack of resources.

In February, Green House Living for Sheridan held their Grand Opening. Green House is a first of its kind facility in the nation for elder care. Sheridan Fire-Chief Patrick Reitz announced his resignation after serving as chief since 2005. In March, Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey announced his bid for a third term, and 40-year-old Clearmont resident Camie Paumer pleaded “guilty” to a number of charges that resulted in her being sentenced to 4 to 7 years in prison. Paumer was convicted of embezzling money from the Hand-in-Hand Childcare in Sheridan.
