Sheridan County School Districts Talk Guns in Schools

Recently, House Bill 194 was passed into law giving individual Wyoming School Districts the opportunity to designate individuals that would be allowed to have a concealed carry firearm in the schools. Sheridan County School District #3 Superintendent Charles Auzqui, explains their position on the passing of this bill.

Auzqui said that even though their schools are in a more rural area, they are confident in the protections that they already have in place. Sheridan County School District #2 Superintendent Craig Dougherty, said that keeping students safe a top priority.

Dougherty continued on to say that their safety procedures are reviewed quarterly to ensure they are doing what is safest for the kids. Marty Kobza, Sheridan County School District #1’s Superintendent, was unable to be reached for comment.
