Sheridan County recently received a grant from the Office of Homeland Security in the amount of $84,810.13. Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Coleman says that the grant is the same as what they typically receive annually, but that the amount of the grant has gone down, and as to what it can be used for has changed as well.

Coleman said that the term of the grant is from August 1st of this year through March 31st of 2014. If the County does not use all of the funds during that time, the money goes back to the Office of Homeland Security.
