Sheridan County Public Health Addresses H1N1 Vaccine

Shipments of the H1N1 vaccine have been slow to arrive in many communities throughout the country. Sheridan County has received 2,400 doses of the vaccine to date, with more arriving on a weekly basis. Sheridan County Public Health Nurse Katie Hiller explains the distribution process.

Hiller said that individuals should contact their Physician in order to find out if they fall into one of the high risk groups that are being targeted at this time. Hiller also said that they are out of the seasonal flu vaccine as well due to a nation-wide delay in shipment of the vaccine. Public Health will be conducting another flu clinic as soon as more of the seasonal flu vaccine arrives.

A 14-year-old Virginia boy

A 14-year-old Virginia boy is weak and struggling to walk after coming down with a reported case of Guillain-Barre syndrome within hours after receiving the H1N1 vaccine for swine flu. "google it if you don't belive it"

I'm not saying don't get the shot, but please also think about the long term risks.
