Sheridan County Gets Wildfire Prevention Funds

Sheridan's County Commissioners approved two grants totaling approximately $65,000 to facilitate cooperation with the Division of State Forestry for wildfire mitigation. This means both private and public entities near Story can get help in the form of tax dollars to clear properties that sit in the path of likely wildfires. County Commissioner, Bob Rolston.

The cooperative agreements with the Division of State Forestry entailed $40,500 for general wildfire mitigation, and an additional $25,000 specifically allocated for the Stumpy Ridge area.
