Sheridan County Approves CMAQ Grant Application

Sheridan County Approves CMAQ Grant Application

Sheridan County will apply for grant funding from the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) for Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) funding after the county commission gave their approval Tuesday.

County Engineer Ken Muller said the county has been taking advantage of the program for a number of years, and this is their annual application to fund dust mitigation on several miles of county roads.

According to the resolution passed Tuesday, the estimated cost of the dust mitigation project in Sheridan County in Fiscal Year 2020 is roughly $385,000 with the grant application asking for $308,000 from WYDOT.

The county will pick up the other 20% of the cost, or about $77,000.
