A one-year extension for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for construction of a proposed a cellular telephone tower near Clearmont was approved by the Sheridan County Commission at their recent meeting.

A secondary proposed tower site's CUP extension was also approved by the commission for an additional site near Clearmont.

The second site, referred to as the “Klaahsen Tower, is proposed for a site just over a mile south of Clearmont on Thompson Creek Road.

Bridger Wireless has applied for the extensions on both sites, with no construction happening at either site to date.

According to the company's request, they were asking for the one-year extension to “work with the carriers on their future build plans and keep the lease area ready for construction.”

The original CUP was awarded in 2014 and has been extended periodically, including the recent extension through 2019.
