Sheridan Commission Denies CUP Application

Sheridan Commission Denies CUP Application

A Conditional Use Permit, or CUP, originally sent back to the Sheridan County Planning & Zoning Commission by the county commission for additional consideration was denied by the county commissioners at their Tuesday meeting.

The applicants for the CUP, James and Rose Hendrickson, applied for the CUP to construct and operate a commercial storage unit business on a 1-acre parcel in the Woods Addition to the City of Sheridan.

The property is zoned UR-Urban Residential and the commercial business is not allowed under the zoning, so the CUP was necessary to allow the business.

The CUP was remanded back to the P&Z Commission on July 2nd by the county commission for further consideration of additional information brought by the petitioners.

County Planner Mark Reid said the planning and zoning commission considered the request a second time.

A public hearing was held by the commission but no comments were offered.

The commission voted unanimously to deny the CUP request for the commercial storage unit business.
