Sheridan College Commencement is Next Week

Sheridan College’s 66th annual Commencement Ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. inside the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome on Saturday, May 16.

Around 540 degrees and certificates were earned by Sheridan College students during 2014-15, while other graduates being recognized at the commencement are those earning High School Equivalency Certificates as well as Bachelor’s and Master’s degree candidates.

Diane Carlson Evans, a former captain in the Army Nurse Corps from Helena, Montana, who served in the Vietnam War, will provide the commencement address. Evans is the founder, president and Board of Directors CEO of the Vietnam Women’s Memorial Foundation in Washington, D.C. She has been a guest lecturer to more than 200 colleges, universities and high schools across the nation.

The Commencement Ceremony will also include a performance by the Celtic Colorado Pipes and Drums and the presentation of the Sheridan College Foundation Distinguished Alumnus Award, presented to Ken Thorpe of Sheridan, as well as the Sheridan College President’s Award. Prior to graduation, the Sheridan College nursing pinning will be at 8 a.m., followed by the dental hygiene ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Both will be also be held in the Golden Dome.The Commencement Ceremony is free and open to the public.
