Sheridan Co. Fair: Inaugural 4-H Rocket Camp a Success

Sheridan Co. Fair: Inaugural 4-H Rocket Camp a Success

An event slightly outside the realm of what one might usually find at the fair, had kids launch rockets from the fairgrounds arena using what they learned during a week learning about aerospace. 4-H Educator Jerrica Lind talked about why they wanted to add this new activity to fair week.

Thirteen kids participated in the camp at the Tongue River Valley Community Center where they built rockets, learning about rocket and aerospace science from Lind. Seven showed up Tuesday afternoon - for the fun part - to launch their rockets. Garrett Schueber, 7-years-old, after letting his rocket fly, shared what he learned about rockets this week.

Lind says she would like to make the rocket camp part of the fair again next year. The Sheridan County Fair continues through Saturday at the fairgrounds.
