Sheridan Climbs to Fourth Spot in Contest

As of Monday afternoon, Sheridan ranked in fourth place among the 20 small towns nominated in USA Today magazine's Best Small Town Cultural Scene competition.

Sheridan businessman Kim Love said he thinks it's exciting that Sheridan is a nominee, but it would be even more exciting for Sheridan to win the competition.

Love said for him, that shows the extent to which Sheridan is being increasingly recognized as having a really good public arts program.

Love, who was interviewed during the unveiling Saturday of the Hot Tamale Louie sculpture on Grinnell Plaza, said Sheridan is really coming into its own this year with the addition of sculpture like Hot Tamale Louie and Rabbit Reach, an on-loan piece in front of Sanford's.

People can vote for Sheridan for the Best Small Town Cultural Scene award by pressing the “Vote” button on the front page of Sheridan Media's online site. People can also vote for Sheridan multiple times.
