Sheridan Area Water Supply Board Moves Ahead With Planning Expansion To The Water Plant

The recently installed 20-inch water line completed for the Sheridan Area Water Supply system not only updated old infrastructure but increased capacity of the line. In response, the board is considering a project at the Big Goose Water Treatment Plant that would allow the plant to keep up with the larger line. SAWS Administrator Dave Engels…

The treatment plant clearwell expansion project will be partially covered by a $2 Million grant but SAWS and the City will still have to cover design costs and find the other $1 Million to complete the project.

The Joint Powers Board voted to support the City of Sheridan’s recent grant application to the Wyoming Water Development Commission. The grant monies would be used to implement a hydropower generation project in the City water system.

Finally, SAWS will spend up to $3,500 to resolve drainage issues in areas affected by the construction of the 20-inch water line. That water line was completed in 2008.
