Sheridan Airport Plane Crash Remains Under Investigation

The cause of Friday afternoon's plane crash at the Sheridan airport remains under investigation.

Airport Manager John Stopka said the pilot was the only one on board when the Quest Kodiak aircraft went down shortly after takeoff. He identified the pilot of the private plane as Robert Wallick Jr., saying he owned the aircraft and is with Cloud Peak Aviation. He said the pilot suffered minor injuries, but the 8-person plane appeared to be a total loss.

He said the crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration or FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board. Cloud Peak Aviation is an aircraft charter company based in Sheridan.
