Several Injured When Sheridan Team Van Rolls

UPDATE: A van carrying a boys basketball team and staff from a Sheridan school went off the road and rolled Friday night, causing injuries to the 11 people on board but no fatalities.

Ronda Holwell of the Wyoming Department of Transportation said the crash occurred on Interstate 90 between Sheridan and Buffalo.

She said the 15-passenger van was carrying nine students and two staff members from the Normative Services Academy in Sheridan. The private school provides education and treatment for troubled teens. All the occupants suffered some type of injury, she said, by none were life threatening. She said the initial investigation finds that the driver of the van fell asleep, causing the vehicle to crash and roll one and a quarter times. The crash caused a temporary closure of the eastbound lane late Friday night.
