September is Archeology Awareness Month

The Fort Laramie National Historic Site is celebrating its 175th anniversary and it is featured on this year's “Wyoming Archeology Awareness Month” poster. Governor Dave Freudenthal recently proclaimed September as Archeology Awareness month.

Fort Laramie National Historic Site Superintendent Mitzi Frank explains a little bit about the history of Fort Laramie.

The 2009 Wyoming Archeology Awareness month poster is available free of charge at the State Historic Preservation office in Cheyenne. If you'd like one mailed to you, there is a $10.00 charge.
