The outdoor activities program for senior citizens starts next week. Jane Perkins is the activities director for the Sheridan Senior Citizens Center.

She said this year’s activities include walking, jogging, cycling and lawn games.

The walking/jogging/cycling excursions are planned for Wednesdays, June 4, 11 and 18, starting at 9 in the morning.

And, she said, the center has bicycles for those who don’t have one.

They also are thinking about putting together a motorcycle group.

So, they’ve set up two meetings, one on Wednesday, June 6, at 11 in the morning, and the other on Monday night, June 9, at 7, to gauge interest. As for the lawn games, they're scheduled for Saturdays, June 21 and 28 and July 5, 12 and 19, starting at 10. A dock fishing excursion is also being planned, she said, for August, but the date has not yet been set. For more information about any of the activities, she said call or stop by the senior center on Smith Street. The number is -- 307-672-2240.
