Senior Center Hosts Current Events Discussions

Senior Center Hosts Current Events Discussions

The Sheridan Senior Center is hosting a series of current events discussions to give members of the community a chance to debate, learn, or vent their opinions regarding news headlines. Jane Perkins, activities director, said she came up with the idea when considering new activities that will interest people from different walks of life.

The discussions will be moderated by state legislator, John Paton, and will focus on national and world issues. The discussions are designed to be non-political and non-partisan. Perkins said she hopes to keep the meetings ongoing as the headlines change.

So far the center has nailed down two dates for its current event discussions: the first is tomorrow, and the next will be Friday, November 16. Both events start at 1:30 p.m. Though the discussions are hosted by the Senior Center, everyone is invited to attend.
