Senator Kinskey Weighs In on Medicaid Expansion

Governor Matt Mead’s budget proposal for the biennium calls for legislators to expand Medicaid to cover more than 20,000 state residents who cannot afford health insurance. The Legislature has been apprehensive of buying into the plan that is part of President Obama’s Affordable Health Care Act. State Senator Dave Kinskey of Sheridan was a guest on our news talk show Public Pulse Tuesday, where he said he continues to oppose Medicaid expansion.

Kinskey said the fact that expansion is part of Obamacare isn’t the reason his fellow lawmakers are against it.
