Senator Enzi Weighs In On President's State Of The Union Address

U.S. Senator Mike Enzi joined Congressional members Wednesday night to witness President Obama's State of the Union address. Following the address, Senator Enzi weighed in by saying.

Enzi went on to say that he was hoping the President would have addressed national security issues, such as trying terrorists in military courts instead of civilian courts. Senator Enzi closed his remarks on national security by voicing his disappointment in the fact that the President continues to insist that terrorists be treated like citizens. Enzi did, however, commend Obama for his comments on taking another look at health care reform.

U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis said that she welcomed Obama's call for a spending freeze, but added that she would be sending a letter to the President demanding that he keep his promise to the American people in regards to spending. Lummis said that she will urge him to use the power of the veto on any legislation which increases non-defense spending.
