Second Comment Period For Proposed Forest Service Trail Project Underway

The Bighorn National Forest is offering a second 30-day comment period for the proposed Forest Service Trail 038 Conversion project.

District ranger Amy Ormseth said the proposed project would address resource damage and concerns about public safety on the trail in the Tongue Ranger District. If approved, the Forest Service would convert a 3.3-mile section of Forest Service Trail 038 from a motorized, improved trail to a non-motorized, primitive trail. The second 30-day comment period began Thursday.

Written comments can be hand delivered or mailed to the Tongue Ranger District Office, 2013 Eastside 2nd Street, Sheridan, WY 82801. Office hours for hand deliveries are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except federal holidays. E-mail comments can be sent to comments-bighorn@fs.fed.us. A description of the proposal, including a map, is available for review at www.goo.gl/Hsohsk.
