Among the popular events in downtown Sheridan on Rodeo Friday is the annual Pancake Breakfast.

Boy Scouts of Sheridan's Troop 117 will start serving pancakes, ham, coffee and more on Grinnell Plaza at 6 a.m. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under.

Matthew Vielhauer, who's an assistant scoutmaster, said the Scouts are on site starting at 4 a.m.

The breakfast was started by Sheridan's Kiwanis Club, but the Boy Scouts have assisted with the event for several years.

Vielhauer said the Scouts were approached by the Kiwanis, in particular Dr. Ronald Bisbee, who wanted the Scouts to take over the annual event. The Scouts did so, naming the breakfast the Dr. Bisbee Memorial Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast in Dr. Bisbee's honor.

Vielhauer said Dr. Bisbee had a schedule printed out for the breakfast, and though there have been some modifications through the years, the Boy Scouts still use Dr. Bisbee's schedule. The breakfast is a fundraiser for the Scouts.
