Science of Marijuana to be Topic of Presentation

Marijuana has changed, and the science behind that change will be the focus of a presentation in Sheridan College's Thorne-Rider Campus Center this month.

The event is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. on May 15 and is part of a statewide tour by Ben Cort, who had his own struggle with substance abuse. Cort has been sober since June 1996, and is now a spokesperson for the recovery community.

Cort's talk is expected to include what the change in marijuana means for addiction rates, how the drug is now consumed, increased potency rates and how marijuana is being marketed to youth.
