School District 1 Trustees Amend Budget

Sheridan County School District 1 ended the 2019 fiscal year with a surplus in the general fund budget, but part of that money had to be transferred Tuesday night to make up a shortfall in the budget for special education.

District 1 Superintendent Pete Kilbride explained.

Trustees approved amendments authorizing the transfer of funds during their meeting Tuesday. Kilbride said the district had about $150,000 extra in the general fund to cover the special education shortfall.

In other action, the board appointed Trustee Karen Walters to represent School District 1 on the Wyoming School Board Association.
