School Bus Accident Sends Buffalo Students to Hospital

An accident between a school bus and a private vehicle Thursday afternoon sent an unspecified number of students to the local hospital for testing and observation. The accident occurred around 4:00 pm on Bypass Road north of Buffalo High School, according to Dr. Rod Kessler, Superintendent of Johnson County School District #1.

Kessler said the bus was apparently stopped when it was struck from behind by the vehicle.

Kessler said the police and school officials would continue to investigate the accident, to determine what exactly happened and why.

More information will be released as it becomes available, Kessler added.

Kessler said there were no indications of any serious injuries to either the students or the driver, but they were still being checked out a few hours after the accident.
