Scholarships Available For Those Interested In Library Education

The Institute of Museum and Library Services grant program will be giving scholarships to 50 students from South Dakota, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. The scholarships will enable a person to earn a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas's distance education program or earn a School Library Media Endorsement from distance programs at Black Hills State University, Montana State University, or the University of Montana.

The Wyoming State Library will award at least six MLIS scholarships and four media endorsement scholarships on April 30, 2010. The scholarships will pay 80% of tuition and fees. Persons interested in pursuing library education, are encouraged to attend an information session at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library from 5 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009.
