Last October, the Sheridan Area Water Supply joint powers board appropriated $15,000 to fund a study on the feasibility of consolidating Sheridan County's rural water system with the city of Sheridan's municipal system. Fletcher Davis of Hawksley Consulting gave a public presentation this week regarding the results of the study, which he said consolidation makes sense for both the City and SAWS.

SAWS Project Manager Dan Coughlin said the Joint Powers Board will take the consultant’s report under consideration.

Coughlin said no decision has been made regarding consolidation, as they are in the process of determining what route to take for the future of the SAWS system.
