SAWS Board Considers Rate Reductions

The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board once again discussed water rates during their monthly meeting at the Sheridan County Courthouse. In an effort to provide relief for those SAWS customers with large tap sizes, the Board considered eliminating 5 tiers of the rate structure. Board member Dave Kinskey says it would make average customers susceptible to higher rates.

The board briefly discussed making those rates apply to everyone unilaterally. The matter was tabled until the financial effects of that action can be projected.
