The event will start with a meeting-and-greeting at 5 p.m., followed by the dinner at 6. Alan Weakly, who's chairman of the Salvation Army advisory board, talked about the award.

This year's dinner will celebrate the Sheridan Salvation Army's 100th year, and will be free, Weakly said.

Guest speaker will be Lt. Col. Daniel Starrett, who is the Western Division commander. Weakly said he will talk about the challenges facing the Salvation Army and what the Army does throughout the western United States. Weakly said the Salvation Army brass band will provide music for the event.
