Rodeo Week Officially Kicks Off Tuesday

Sheridan WYO Rodeo Week celebration officially – and literally – kicks off Tuesday night at Whitney Commons.

Registration for the Boot Kick-off starts at 4 p.m. There are five categories – boys and girls ages 9 to 12, boys 13 to 17, girls 13 to 17, men 18 and up, and women 18 and up. Competition is limited to 20 participants in each category.

The night's fun gets under way with stick horse races for children through age 8 starting at 5 p.m., and that's followed by the boot kick-off competition. People can bring their own boots, or boots will be available at the event.

hamber Bucks will be awarded to the top three winners in each category, with more than $1,300 in bucks to be given out.

Also highlighting the event will be the kick-off challenge between the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and the Sheridan Jaycees.

After the kick-off, people can continue the celebration with Black Tooth Brewing Company's after-party or the Concert in the Park starting at 7:30 p.m. in Kendrick Park.
