The effort to bring the Rocky Mountain International (RMI) Roundup to Buffalo has raised the majority of the money needed to put on the event, but was still in need of $4,300 to cover expenses as of Tuesday morning.

That prompted Angela Jarvis and Olin Turner to approach the Johnson County Commissioners to ask for more funding help.

Jarvis and Turner both spoke of the benefits to the city and county as well as the region from more than 300 people converging on Buffalo to hear and see what local attractions their Eurpean travelers would come to see and experience.

The commissioners discussed giving more to the cause but struggled with doing more when the county has been the majority donor so far.

Commissioner Delbert Eitel said he agreed but also saw the benefit for the region and suggested a compromise.

The commissioners approved donating another $1,500 to the RMI Roundup, which will happen April 28th through May 1.
