A recent review of the liability insurance coverage for the Johnson County Healthcare Center has found “adequate” coverage based on comparisons to similar rural healthcare facilities.

During the annual presentation to the board of trustees concerning their insurance policies earlier this year, Trevor Moon with North Wyoming Insurance gave an overview of the current policy.
The board at that time asked him to check the facility's aggregate coverage to see if it needed to be increased or not.

The aggregate limit is the total amount the insurance company will pay for claims over the course of the policy, which is usually one year.

Moon discussed the matter with CEO Sean McCallister, who brought the information before the board for their decision.

McCallister said the facility currently has $1 million in coverage for aggregate general liability and in cyber risk coverage, and after review, it was determined that the facility is protected with their existing policy.

No action was needed by the board.
The policy will remain unchanged and takes effect with the new fiscal year.
