TIPs Training Retailers were recognized Tuesday in Buffalo.

Twelve Buffalo alcohol retailers were presented with framed awards thanking them for their participation in TIPs Training so their businesses and employees are more responsible while selling alcohol.

Bill Hawley, Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator for the Community Resource Center in Buffalo, explains what TIPs is.

Hawley said the cooperation between the retailers, the City of Buffalo, law enforcement and the Community Resource Center has been overwhelming, and he said that since TIPs Training was started in Johnson County, the community has a large number of certified retailers working in the community.

The ceremony took place Tuesday afternoon at the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce. Hawley explains what the awards were for.

The retailers were: Up In Smoke, Wahoo Likkers/Outback Lounge, Big Horn Travel Plaza, DJ's Liquor Store, Hoot-n-Howl, City Liquor, Bozeman Trail Steakhouse, Hampton Inn & Suites, American Legion, Elbow Room, Century Club and the Moose Lodge.
