Reserve Spots Now For 'Echoes of the Past' History Tours

The annual “Echoes of the Past” cemetery tours, put on by the Johnson County Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum, will be offered next month, but the museum is urging those that wish to attend to sign up now as spaces are limited.

The tours are offered at Buffalo's Willow Grove Cemetery, where the public can learn about the town's past through interactive live-role play by local actors portraying historical figures from Buffalo's past.

The lantern-led tours begin at 8:30 each night on August 8, 9, and 10 and again August 15, 16, and 17 at Willow Grove Cemetery.
Special non-walking tours will be offered August 7 and 14.

The cost of the tour is $25 per person and spots can be reserved through the Jim Gatchell Museum.

This year's tour has Emma Buell played by Donna Creditor; Jack and Maria Flagg played by Mike and Marcie Scarlett; Alice Carr Embrey played by Jessica Knight; Alice Chappell played by Sylvia Bruner; Lulu Buxton played by Kim Harvey; Harry “Housetop” Homrighausen played by Lynn Young; Vivienne Hesse played by Lynette Fox; Tom Horn played by Brad Isner; Charles Henry Burritt played by Mark Bentley; and Ruth Martin played by Brittiny Morrison.
