Legislator Mike Madden has announced his intention to seek another term as State Representative for House District 40, which includes all of Johnson and the eastern part of Sheridan Counties. Madden, who’s served since 2007, talks about what led to his decision to run again.

Madden said that experience is something he can provide at a time when many long-term legislators have decided to not seek re-election.

Madden said that he didn’t want to step aside during tough times.

Madden a former economics and statistics professor, is currently the chairman of the House Revenue Committee, one of ten standing House committees. He is also the vice-chairman of the State Employee Compensation Commission.
