Report: Chemical Spill Damage Contained

The final report on a chemical spill into a Yellowstone River tributary along the Montana-Wyoming border says the initial release of 1,000 gallons of road deicer was enough to briefly double the river's total flow.

The report released yesterday said the remaining 4,900 gallons of magnesium chloride leaked out slowly after two trailers crashed into the river. That meant the entire spill was quickly diluted by the water of the Clarks Fork River.
