February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness month.

The Centers for Disease Control says one out of ten teenagers reports being physically abused in the previous year, and Christina Escobar, director of “LoveIsRespect,” says parents should be on the lookout for unhealthy relationship patterns in their teens.

Escobar says even if there is trouble in a relationship, teenagers aren't likely to respond well to an all-out intervention. Instead, parents should adopt a more delicate approach.

Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month is created by a Congressional resolution, which was co-authored by John Barrasso.
