Redistricting Set for Sheridan County, Still Unsettled for Other Parts of the State

The Wyoming Legislature's Corporations, Elections and Political Subdivisions Committee met late last week for one final go around of drafting a redistricting bill that will go before the Legislature next month. State Representative John Patton is on the Elections Committee and he says that while a bill has been crafted, it's anything but resolved.

The one change affecting Sheridan County is a shift from Johnson County representation to Sheridan County representation for residents of Story, as they would be represented by Senator Bruce Burns and Representative Rosie Berger.

Patton stated that he expects many amendments to the bill once introduced.

Redistricting is done after a census is conducted to account for changes in population that occur over a ten year period.
