The Sheridan Recreation District Board of Trustees approved their budget for fiscal year 2010-2011 Wednesday night. Recreation District Director Richard Wright says that this year's numbers are considerably lower than last year's budget.

If there is a silver lining to a smaller budget and tough economic times, it's that people are using the parks more and more.

Along with fewer planned capital projects for the year, another reason the Recreation District's budget is so much lower this year is that the City of Sheridan cut $100,000 from their budget.
