Ramaco CEO Atkins Elected Coal Council Vice Chair

Randall Atkins, who's chairman and chief executive of Ramaco Carbon, has been elected vice chairman for the remainder of this year and chair-elect for 2020 of the National Coal Council in Washington D.C.

Atkins was originally appointed to the NCC by U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry in 2017. The NCC is a federal advisory committee to the Secretary of Energy.

Atkins is a member of the NCC's executive committee and chairs a task force authoring a report for Secretary Perry on advanced uses for coal.

Ramaco Carbon, which is based in Sheridan, is pursuing the development of “coal to products” and seeking a way to convert coal to carbon for use in 3D printing.
