Hub International Insurance and Johnson County Public Health are co-sponsoring an upcoming event designed to make sure kids are safe and secure while riding in cars.

The Child Car Seat Safety Event will be happening on Friday, May 11th and is free for everyone interested to stop by and have their child safety seats checked for proper installation and to make sure the seats are the right fit for the child.

Robin King, with Johnson County Public Health, tells us more about the safety event.

King also said that children are recommended to use child safety seats through nine years of age, but could come out earlier if they are taller than average, or may have to stay in slightly longer if smaller in stature, which is why it is important to have the seats checked at events like the one coming up.

The Child Care Seat Safety event will be offered Friday, May 11th from 2 to 5 in the afternoon at the HUB International Insurance parking lot located at 821 Fort Street in Buffalo.
