Planning Commission Will Consider Possible Forward Sheridan Facility At Their Next Meeting

The City of Sheridan has stopped work on a construction project by Double Eagle LLC. Double Eagle owner Ron Patterson is building a facility that may house the Forward Sheridan offices and small business incubator program. Patterson was moving forward with construction because even if Forward Sheridan is unable to purchase the offices, he believes there is a market for the building.

The City ordered the construction halted because it had progressed further than was permitted by the building department. The Sheridan City Planning Commission has not approved the design specifications for the building yet. They are scheduled to hear the matter on Monday night. Earlier this week the design review board recommended the application be denied based on “inadequate roof modulation.”

According to city junction corridor regulations, rooflines over 50 feet in length should be broken with gables or other modulations that would prevent long expanses of roof lines.

The City Planning Commission will consider the matter this Monday along with the final plat of the phase 1 subdivision contained in the Wrench Ranch Master Plan for a nearly 100 acre portion of the land in north Sheridan recently annexed into the city.

The meeting will take place at 7PM in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
