Planes Still Running on Time

Nearly 95 percent of flights into Sheridan County Airport are on time, and more than 99 percent of flights are being completed.

Airport Manager John Stopka shared the news with Sheridan County commissioners in a meeting at the airport Tuesday morning. Statistics cover the period from November 2015 through the end of October this year.

A Fly Sheridan Fare Sale appears to be getting results, according to Stopka.

Stopka also updated commissioners on the proposed Wyoming Aviation Capital Improvement plan through the year 2022. The plan includes acquiring snow removal equipment in fiscal 2017, and rehabilitation of edge lighting in 2018. Stopka said the airport received $1 million in federal funds for fiscal 2017, which started on Oct. 1.

Regarding other projects this year, Stopka said the airport has finished removing trees that were obstructing an airport runway. He said he's still in negotiations with FedEx regarding a renewal of that company's lease at the airport.
