Pioneer Car Club Driving Tour Coming Up

A local vintage car club will be showcasing their models this weekend before they hit the road for a tour. Hannah Stepenoff has the details.

Join the Model A Pioneer Car Club, as they take a driving tour to the Hardin Museum on Sunday. They will depart from Ranchester at 9 a.m. and travel the county roads to the museum. Newsletter editor for the club Lois Madsen, said the club is for enthusiasts with cars at least 25 years old—often referred to as pioneer cars.

The club began around 20 years ago, and focused on Model A Fords, she said, but has since expanded to include all pioneers cars. Members focus on the preservation and restoration of these cars, she said, but the club also offers an opportunity for people to connect through their shared hobby.

Currently, the oldest car in the club is a Model T Ford from 1919. Members and non members are welcome to come and check out the cars, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch.
