Not a soul was in site strolling downtown at night before the 23rd Annual Sheridan Christmas Stroll.

Enjoy these wee-hour window displays for "Light up the Night" competition, the theme of this year's event, sponsored by the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce and featuring 96 Christmas Stroll participants this year from one end of town to the other.

With just the right 'nip' in the air, strollers enjoyed a seasonal atmosphere featuring miniature horses and hay rides, chili, soups, and cider, and marshmallows melting in the fire . . . plus solos, duets, and musical trios and Christmas carols sung by a choir.

Dozens of shoppers combed retail outlets looking for a winning stroll button number during the event. The Sheridan Chamber of Commerce will publish those winners; and stroll button fun will continue as stroll 'elves', armed with $4,000 in chamber bucks to give away, will watch for shoppers wearing their stroll buttons on every Saturday between the stroll and Dec 14. Ethan Evans created the winning stroll button design featuring the theme.
