People flocked to Whitney Commons near downtown Sheridan Saturday afternoon for this year's Suds 'n Spurs Brewfest.

Dixie Johnson, CEO of the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce, guestimated a little over 1,000 people were already on the scene by shortly before 4 p.m. The event, which includes food, live music and a chance to sample beers from across Wyoming and neighboring states, lasted into the evening.

Johnson said this year's event drew 18 brewers from six states, plus a couple of distributors.

Johnson added the event wouldn't be possible without the support of the brewers, sponsors, the Chamber board of directors and, specifically, the people who attend the event. Among the companies coming back to Sheridan was Snowy Mountain Brewery of Saratoga. Company representative Scott Randall said he loved Sheridan.

Randall said this was his first year to attend the brewfest, but it's the third year for the company. The event is a fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce.
