Patton Puts Emphasis On Education

Sheridan County state legislator John Patton gave a history lesson about the writing of the Constitution to the Republican Women's Club Monday afternoon.

It's true Patton is a through-and-through American history buff, but his hobby speaks toward his lifelong commitment to education. Patton is continually mindful of Wyoming's public education programs and spoke highly of public school programs.

Patton acknowledged that as education becomes more advanced, educational programs must balance between being broadly introductory to various subjects, but also be vocationally relevant. This, he said, is especially true of high schools and junior colleges.

Patton is still deciding whether he will run for re-election, and said his health will play a big part in his decision.
