Buffalo Bison Football Coach Pat Lynch submitted his resignation to the Johnson County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees, and during a special meeting Monday night, the Board voted to accept his resignation as football coach and weight lifting coach, but to retain him as a guidance counselor.

After an hour-long executive session during which the board discussed their options, board member Marcy Schueler made a motion during the re-convened public meeting.

Lynch submitted a letter of apology to the board that was read by Mark Gordon, in which he apologized for a lapse in judgment that caused pain to the board, and said he will work to hopefully regain the trust of the board in the future.

Again, Lynch will not coach football or weight lifting, but will be retained as the high school guidance counselor under administrative supervision.
