Matt Vielhauer, who's an assistant Scoutmaster, was on Grinnell Plaza by 4:15 a.m. Friday to start preparing for Friday morning's Pancake Breakfast.

But he said preparations actually started Thursday night for the event that kicks off Rodeo Friday in downtown Sheridan. The Boy Scouts handled the breakfast this year, which was named the Dr. Bisbee Memorial Boy Scouts of America Pancake Breakfast in honor of the late Dr. Rodney Bisbee, who was a big supporter of the event.

Among those attending the breakfast was this year's Miss Wyoming, Cheyenne Buyert of Sheridan. She said she's been to the breakfast before.

Also attending was Sheridan City Councilman Alex Lee. He said he's been coming to the pancake breakfast since he was at least 12 years old. We asked what keeps him coming back.

In addition to preparing the food, the Boy Scouts bused tables and assisted in carrying trays for people. The breakfast started at 6 a.m., and Vielhauer expected to serve around 2,000 people by the time it ended at 9.
