County To Participate In Cybersecurity Analysis Project

Johnson County will be participating in a Cybersecurity Analysis Project to study the county's level security in electronic data, coming up at the end of this month, according to Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly, who updated the county commissioners at their last regular meeting.

Arch Coal Files Bankruptcy

The second largest coal mining company in the United States filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday. Arch Coal Inc. CFO John Drexler said in the bankruptcy filing with U.S. Bankruptcy Court in St. Louis, that “over the past several years, a confluence of economic challenges and regulatory hurdles has hobbled the coal industry”.

Truck Fire Cause Remains Under Investigation

Update: The Wyoming Highway Patrol has identified the driver as 52-year-old Michael Robeson of Las Vegas, Nevada. According to the patrol report, he was driving a 2001 Freightliner commercial truck pulling a trailer westbound on I-90 when a passing motorist motioned to him that some of the tires on the trailer had caught fire. After pulling over, Robeson and responding Troopers were able to dampen the fire with extinguishers but were unsuccessful in fully putting the fire out.
